Az együttműködés igen elterjedt az élővilágban. A szülői gondoskodás, a közös vadászat, a territórium védelem, a ragadozók figyelése példázzák az ilyen viselkedést. Az legelterjedtebben alkalmazott modellcsalád az együttműködés vizsgálatára a játékelmélet. A szakdolgozatban a játékelmélet alapjait és az ehhez kapcsolható megfigyeléseket kell összegeznie a szakdolgozónak. Fontos, hogy a szakdolgozatban az elmélet mellett a kísérletes/megfigyeléses tanulmányok is helyet kapjanak. Így a szakdolgozó a modellek alkalmazhatóságával is megismerkedik.
